Day 151: I used the word “escape”.

Week 21: Walk/Run 30 minutes, 4 days this week – Walk 10 minutes, (run 1 minute / walk 1 minute) x5, Walk 10 minutes

Good afternoon. I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing, and it was work asking me to come in on my day off. In a way, I’m glad. I was really trying to figure out last night before I went to bed what I was going to do today. I’m worried I don’t have much of a life when I don’t have Luke and I don’t work. I’m writing a novel so I can escape into that world for a while which to me is better than playing video games or doing what I use to do (which I don’t want to get into or discuss.) I could go for a walk / jog, but that will only eat up so much time, and to be honest, I’m a little behind on that right now. When I get done with work, I think to myself “I’m going to go home and jog.” After the fiorty minute or so drive, I’m just tired and all motivation goes out the window like Chocolate Gertrude Hawk Jordan Crackers. I think that’s why I gained weight in the month of July. That and the E.D.R.. I just have to stay focused. Boy don’t I sound like a great big ball of fun. I’m going to go out and get some air in my britches.
I hope everybody has a great day and stays focused.

Day 148: Keep my eye on the prize.

Week 22: Walk/Run 30 minutes, 4 days this week – Walk 10 minutes, (run 1 minute / walk 1 minute) x5, Walk 10 minutes

Good morning. I’m just waking up so I’m not really all into anything yet. The water is boiling on the stove for my coffee and oatmeal, and I just got done doing my stretches, crunches and push-ups. Carol gave me my new goal for the week which is to start out walking for ten minutes and then jog for a minute, walk for a minute for a total of thirty minutes, four times a week. This is something that I’m going to have to stay on top of. I know I missed a day last week, but Luke and I went to Knoebels and we both must have walked five miles. I think it’s my work schedule that’s throwing me off a bit. When I’m driving home I have all intentions of going for a walk / jog, but after the fifty minute drive, I step out of my car and I’m just exhausted. Then I sleep until the early afternoon and if I have Luke, jogging is out of the question (it’s more like chasing). I don’t know. I don’t want to sound like I’m making excuses. I’ll figure it out. I jumped on the scale at J.D.’s yesterday and to my surprise I didn’t lose any weight, but gained a pound. I could blame this on the E.D.R. because I have been eating one meal in there during a shift but it’s always a healthy meal. I’m not discouraged. The way I look at it is I’ll find what works for me and work it. I’m still very happy with what I have accomplished in the past few months. I mean come on, thirty pounds is nothing to sneeze at, and I feel great. Now if that pound goes up to five pounds then there might be a problem Houston.Â
I hope everybody has a great day and thinks the scale is off too.
