Day 183: Now you see it, now you don’t…steam that is.

Week 26: Eat 2 cups of cooked or baked whole grains each day this week.

Good afternoon. I just picked up Luke, and we’re heading to the park to enjoy some sunshine and sliding boards. I think today will be a better day than yesterday. It’s funny how things build up. Well, let me restate that – it isn’t funny at all, in fact it’s the exact opposite of funny. Sometimes the things people do just amaze me, and the only time I like to be amazed is when my son shows me something he has found for the first time and finds amazing himself, or by a good magic trick ( I really like a good magic trick). I guess there are some other instances where I like to be taken aback in disbelief, but none of them are in a bad way by people who should know better. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m sorry for blowing off steam on the blog yesterday. It’s probably not the place to do it.
As far as being healthy is concerned, I feel I’m doing really well. I haven’t missed a day of weight training and I can tell the difference in my muscle tone already.
Well, Luke is ready to go and you know the drill there. When he says jump, I just love to jump with him and say “ribbit” as I’m doing it.

Day 181: I could have sworn they were in there.

Week 26:  Eat 2 cups of cooked or baked whole grains each day this week.

Good morning. Wow, I just got done walk / jogging and I’m pretty pumped up. I have a couple of things I have to take care of today, being that it’s the end of the month and all, so once again I’m going to cut it short.
I really have been feeling good as of late. I am enjoying the weight lifting and I’m trying to get used to the jogging, but sometimes I swear my big frame wasn’t meant to jog or be jogged — who knows that could just be my laziness talking.
I’ve been sticking to my healthy foods every day except for yesterday when I forgot to eat broccoli. I just plain forgot. I was out of the stuff and then when I got to work it slipped my mind because they put me on blackjack. No excuses. Well, one of the places I have to go today is Giant, so on that note I’ll catch you later.

Day 163: Oh that’s where those muscles are.

Week 24:  Lift weights for 5 minutes each day this week.

Good afternoon. I’ve only got a couple of minutes because I’m running behind today. I woke up a little sore from my first day of lifting weights. So if you’re following along, I know I stretched more today when I did my workout and I hope you did too. It was like I awakened muscles that had been sleeping for years, and they were grumpy complaining children, “I don’t want to go to the Fit School today!” But to the Fit School they went, and soon I won’t hear a peep from them because they will be all pumped up.
I wish I had more time, but I just don’t.

Day 162: Carol is here to PUMP me up.

Week 24:  Lift weights for 5 minutes this week.

Good afternoon. I just woke up and read my new goal for the week. It looks like it’s time to break out the weights. I have no idea where they are. No joke. No funny ha ha. And I also believe when I finally do find them they are going to be so rusty I might as well go out and buy new ones. I am looking forward to some weight training though.
I have to mow my lawn today and after that I’ll have some time to burn before I head off to work. I don’t get Luke until Wednesday this week so that gives me some time to work on my novel. When the boy’s around sometimes it’s hard just to get the blog done, let alone make up a story about the music and casino industry. Well, it’s about a lot more than that, but if I got into telling you about it I would be here for half the day.
