Week 10: Walk 3 days this week for at least 30 minutes.

Good afternoon. I’ve got to apologize for yesterday’s entry because I never really got to the reason why I don’t like skim milk, or what I refer to as white water. I’m going to blame it on the wounds my son delivered with his claws and the loss of blood that must have caused me to digress off the charts, never to return until I read it. And when I did I thought to myself, Holy cow, Barry, you’re turning into your Grammy, your Aunt Ellen, and that guy who runs around town blathering to no one in particular all rolled up into one at way too early of an age. I guess it wouldn’t be bad if I didn’t notice, but there lies the problem. I noticed. But not until it was posted. Such is life. I’m sure I’ll get over it. I’m not even sure if you noticed it or cared about it for that matter. Either way, on with the explanation of why I don’t like skim milk, which I think my sister Carol will totally dig. In fact, she might dig it so much she may think she’s a gardener
When Carol and I were around ten and eleven we would spend a part of our Summer with our Aunt Janie and Uncle Jerry. They lived in the heart of the farmland of Pennsylvania, which is another reason why I will never understand this. I’m going to cut right to the chase. My Aunt Janie used to buy instant powdered milk. There I said it. It’s out in the daylight and the sun can burn it to the ground like a vampire for all I care. She would add water to this powdery stuff and BLAMMO this white water would be sitting on the table to have with our breakfast. But here’s the kicker – literally the neighbor next door was a dairy farmer who had something like 200 head of dairy cows. By the second week into our summer vacation I would be having such whole milk withdrawl that I would go over to Mark’s (the neighbor) at 4:30 in the morning to help him milk the cows just so I could get real milk. My Aunt and Uncle thought I was an ambitious little worker boy, but the truth of the matter was I wanted my true calcium.
Listen, I love my milk. More so, I love my chocolate milk made with Hershey’s Syrup. But it doesn’t taste the same with skim milk. To be honest with you, it doesn’t taste the same with 2%. When it comes to me and my Hershey’s homemade chocolate milk, I use whole milk. Since I have started at The Fit School, I have not had my whole milk Hershey. So some days I am a little grumpy, to say the least. But at least I can say I’m losing weight. So I’ll take the good with the bad. The good always weighs more on the scales of life anyhow.
I hope a everybody out there has a great day and milks a cow if they can.
Later,
Barry J.
