Day 122: Make a plan and stick with it. Boy that sounds so easy.

Week 18:  Do at least 10 push-ups each day this week.

Good morning. I picked up Luke today instead of yesterday because he’s still not feeling up to par. But the good news is that we got the test results back and the doctors have ruled out all the bad stuff. Can I get I get a hallelujah? Can I get an Amen? They had to order some more blood work which means that they had to stick him again, but he handled it like super boy  — or was it Squirrel Man’s sidekick, the Chipmunk kid? You know, that’s a good question. Anyway. He’s on the mend and Mimi’s watching him as I type in this installment of Go Barry Go, so this blog is going to be short and sweet like a banana.
I want to talk about commitment real quick, because a lot of what I’m doing here at Fit School has to deal with that subject. Here’s my opinion on the topic of weight loss and making healthy life choices. Put in your head what you’re going to do and stick to it. Be bigger than what it is you are trying to conquer, and any obstacle in your way (may it be that box of doughnuts on the counter or that friend or family member who is playing the devil on your shoulder trying to get you to take a second glazed bear claw) will be minuscule compared to your goal. Try to take everything day by day and when temptation comes a knocking, break it down to minute by minute if you have to. Say to yourself, “I’m not going to eat that second doughnut right now” and then come back to it if you have to. If you keep doing that, you won’t even have the first one to begin with and everything gets easy like a Sunday morning. Simple right? I’m not going to rub your rhubarb and tell you it is, because at first it’s not, but once you commit yourself to it, it is. I promise. Cool? Cool.
I hope everybody has a great day and gets committed. (Man, that doesn’t sound right.)
Later,
