Day 36: A Pizza Tour at 7:24am

Week 6: Walk 20 minutes at least 3 times this week.

Barry

Good morning. I hope everybody had a great weekend. I know Luke and I did. I’ll tell you what, when my head hit the pillow last night it was “boom boom out go the lights”. I slept so well. I woke at 6:30am made myself a bowl of oatmeal with the last remains of my good friend Jif, and drank a glass of what I like to call Montel. I went to my computer and checked my new goal for the week. It seems that Carol wants me to add five minutes to my walk. No problem. I put on my walking clothes, which consist of a pair of jeans and a sweater, and went out into the crisp morning air. Man, I sound like a granola commercial. Anyway. I never know where I’m going to walk, I just pick a direction and start steppin’. I headed north and after about three minutes I walked past one of my favorite pizza joints in town. Stuccio’s. I can hear Carol and Barb licking their lips from 2932 miles away. Oh yes, Stuccio’s, one of Berwick’s hidden treasures. I use to go there quite a bit before I started here at the Fit School. I should stop in during business hours just to let them know I’m OK. After about another six minutes of brisk brick beating I strolled past Kings Pizzeria. That’s right, Carol and Barb, Kings pizza. You see reader, as kids we used to go to the movies and afterward we went to Kings. I used to go there quite a bit before I started here at Fit School. I should stop in during business hours just to let them know I’m OK. Anyway. I headed west and then south and roughly seven minutes later I was walking past Tuzzi’s Bakery and Pizza. That’s right, Carol and Barb, Tuzzi’s. They still don’t have a place to eat in, but how many times did we eat out for birthday parties, cookouts, or whatever? I used to order out from there a lot before I started here at the Fit School. I should stop in during business hours just to let them know I’m OK. Did I ever mention to you that I LOVE pizza? I could have walked another four minutes and gone to a place called Dalo’s, but I think their pizza is awful. American Cheese has no business being on pizza all by itself. That’s just my opinion. If you mix it with some other cheese alright, but by itself – BLLEEHH!
Well I’m going to start my day.
I hope everybody out there has a great day and walks by some of their favorite eateries.

Day 31: Man, I Should Have Taken a Picture of That Breakfast

Week 5:  Eat at least 10 baby carrots each day.

Barry

Good morning. Well when you’re right, you’re right. We got snow last night. Have you ever seen the movie “The Day After Tomorrow”? Well if you haven’t, the one scene consists of the temperature changing quite drastically. Now I’m not saying that we’re heading for a cataclysmic end. Heck, to be honest with you, I think things are starting to look up. But six days ago it was in the seventies and now snow. Mind you, it’s all gone now because the rain washed it away, but it took me an hour and a half to get to where I was going last night, when it usually takes me forty-five minutes. Crazy, Baby. Crazy. Anyway. The weather people are saying that it’s going to be in the eighties by Friday. Talk about a Good Friday. Bad joke.
My breakfast looked so good this morning that I should have taken a picture of it and sent it to Bon Appetit magazine. Imagine this if you will - a cantaloupe cut with a ridged edge. I thought I would get artsy. Then I filled it up with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and a new twist – a special appearance from our friend down under – kiwi. It was beautiful, I tell you. I almost felt bad eating it – especially when Luke looked at his Cheerios with nannas and then looked at my masterpiece and said “pretty”, dumped his ugly breakfast on the carpet, and came up to me like a fledgling with his mouth opening and closing, making a sound like a sewing machine being operated by an expert, “Mer mer mer mer mer.” So we both ground down and it was “DELISH” as my boy, Andrew, would say.
Well, Luke and I are going to go out for a walk.
I hope everybody out there has a great day, creates something beautiful, and then eats it.
Later,
Barry J.
